Celery going bad

I am so glad that Tammy is holding a ask a question day. I am looking for tips to deal with celery. Everytime I buy some to use in a recipe, they go bad so fast. What can I do to make them last longer??? Thanks.

I had read that if you wrapped it in aluminum foil it would help, but never believed it--until this week! It really keeps it fresh!! :)

That's funny, because my celery lasts probably a month before it starts to go rubbery.

Is it wet? Dry it off and put it in a clean, dry bag with a paper towel. Make sure the bag is open and has plenty of room for air to circulate. You're keeping it in the crisper, right?

Good luck!

I second the aluminum foil tip. My celery was going bad within a week until I started taking it out of the bag and wrapping in in foil. Now it lasts over a month!

I actually did a kitchen tip Tuesday post on this very tip! :-)
