Welcome

I am a 31 year old working mom. I have two children ages 6 & 8. I am newly remarried (two years and counting) and enjoy spending time with the hubs! Even though life is busy I try to take a little time to show what is going on in my world. This blog is mainly for daily happenings, finances and such. I have created a whole new blog at Butcher, Baker and Candlestick Maker to chronicle my creative sides. You will find recipes, cooking adventures, crafts and a whole lot of digital scrapbook layouts.

ENJOY!

WFMW: Disposing of Tampons

Yes, I know a very gross subject but I have discovered a way to dispose of used tampons in - shall we say a cleaner way. I keep all of my empty toilet paper rolls for the month, then when that time is here I just use an empty toilet paper roll to encase my tampon. It keeps the bathroom trash can cleaner and I have to say smelling a lot better. Well that is what works for me.

For more tips go see what WORKS FOR ME WEDNESDAY!
Note: So I just got off the phone with my husband and he said "we got to talk about your blog" Poor guy, he is an introvert and lead a very sheltered life (until he met me). He just does not understand that people actually do talk about these kind-of things.

Hmmmm...I have never thought of that.

You are a wealth of valuable information!

Do you mean the tampon applicators? I just flush the used tampon - they are smaller than some other things that go down the toilet - I wouldn't put them in the garbage.

Yes, please tell you husband we (women) actually do talk about such things. And sometimes things he may find even more embarrassing than that! :)

That's a good tip, though, especially for those of us with septic systems that can't handle anything besides bodily waste and plain t.p.

Thanks for the idea and the chuckle.

LOL! I thought I was the only one!

I never have enough so I have have since moved on. First it was junk mail envelopes. Now I use a page from a magazine...a glossy one. Or the coupon pages from the Sunday paper will do. It does control odor too.

I learned the hard way not to flush them. The strings get caught on the rough interior of the pipes. Not good.

I'm so happy to say I "don't think" I'll need these any more. They say 12 months and so far I'm 5 months along! (I don't mean that I'm pregnant LOL) This is a good tip, should the need arise again!

Great idea! Mine is similar. I save my empty "boutique style" Kleenex boxes. They also hold larger items quite securely.
